Description
The Xhorse MVCI PRO J2534 is a professional-grade passthrough diagnostic / programming interface (VCI) cable designed to serve as an all-in-one replacement for multiple OEM diagnostic tools. It bridges the vehicle’s ECU systems and a PC, allowing use of original factory-level diagnostic and programming software across many car manufacturers.
Key Features & Capabilities
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Standards Supported | Fully supports D-PDU and J2534 communication standards, which are widely accepted in the automotive diagnostics industry. |
| Multi-Vehicle / Multi-Protocol | Compatible with a broad set of vehicle makes (VW / Audi / Toyota / Honda / Ford / Mazda / Subaru / etc.) and multiple communication protocols (CAN, ISO 15765, ISO 9141, ISO 14230, J1850 PWM/VPW, etc. |
| OEM Software Compatibility | Works with official factory diagnostic / programming software suites (e.g. ODIS, Techstream (TIS), HDS, IDS, SSM4, etc.), using the passthrough mode. |
| Firmware / Software Updateable | The device supports online updates for both firmware and software to maintain compatibility with newer vehicle models and protocols. |
| Signal / Status LED | Equipped with LED indicators to reflect device status (e.g. power, communication, error) for easier diagnostics during use. |
| Stable PC Interface | When connected to a PC, the control is designed to be stable and smooth, reducing disconnections or communication glitches. |
| Substitute for OEM Interfaces | Marketed to replace original OEM hardware interfaces (for instance, in the VW group, replacing VAS6154). |
Technical / Operational Details
-
How It Works: You connect one end of the device to the vehicle’s OBD-II (or equivalent diagnostic) port, and the other end to a computer (typically via USB). Once drivers and the Xhorse MVCI software are installed, it acts as a bridge for OEM software.
-
Device Authorization / Licensing: The device may include an “authorization count” or license usage limitation; it can read the authorization state and update it via the MVCI PRO software.
-
passthru driver / software setup: After installing the MVCI PRO driver, you often need to install a “passthru driver” or select the Xhorse interface within the factory software (e.g. in Techstream, HDS) to route commands through this cable.
-
Updating Firmware / Software: The MVCI PRO utility offers a menu to upgrade software version, firmware, switch device settings, etc.
-
Supported Protocols (list): CAN, CAN_PS, FT_CAN_PS, FT_ISO15765_PS, ISO15765, ISO15765_PS, ISO14230, ISO14230_PS, ISO9141, ISO9141_PS, J1850PWM, J1850PWM_PS, J1850VPW, J1850VPW_PS, SW_CAN_PS, SW_ISO15765_PS, etc. Supported OEM / Diagnostic Software Examples:
-
ODIS (VW/Audi)
-
Techstream / TIS (Toyota / Lexus)
-
HDS (Honda / Acura)
-
IDS / FDRS (Ford / Mazda)
-
SSM4 (Subaru)
- Tech2win ( GM , Chervolet )
- Vida ( Volvo )
-
Others (Mercedes, Volvo, Nissan, etc.) reportedly supported or being added.
